Overkill

A multiple arrow hit gag that I built in 2016 for "The Figure", a parody on slasher films.

The arrows are made with plastic pipes that are embedded into the costume. Because this death is supposed to be ridiculous, I added a quickie throat slash wound too.

You can watch the short film on YouTube HERE

The Trail of Doom

Rogue Chimera's latest film, The Trail of Doom, is making its premiere at the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival on December 4, 2022.

This one is a bit strange, as I not only wrote and directed it but also appear on-screen for more than two minutes.

Heads Will Roll

A decapitation gag done for the film "Adahy Tohopka" in 2014 using a few different contraptions, techniques, and props. This type of effect relies heavily on camera angles, timing, and tight editing.

Werewolf Face

One of the stages of the transformation scene in Predatory Moon. The werewolves were done entirely using in-camera effects and FX makeup.

The facial prosthetics were done in stages to show the wold bursting through the human skin. These proved to be quite a challenge for everyone on the SFX team.

TRAIL OF DOOM in Post-Production Now!

In May we shot my second feature film as a director, TRAIL OF DOOM (aka "The Death of Our Art".  This unusual "found footage" style horror-comedy was very loosely based on a lot of true stories.

Yes, I said unusual. We did this on a microscopic budget and all of the crew members were also playing exaggerated versions of themselves on camera. (Yes, even Yours Truly.)

We're in post-production now and expect the film to make its festival debut by the end of this year.

I'm on Patreon

A while back I had a Patreon page that I closed because I felt that I wasn't able to produce enough bonus material for my subscribers when I was only directing one film a year.

I recently re-opened it after getting a few requests to start sharing more about my award-winning screenplays that everyone hears about but very few get to read. I am currently in the process of novelizing some of my feature scripts, and I felt that Patreon would be the safest place to share my writing without breaking any "community rules".  (Because, let's face it... I have at least one film that I can never release on YouTube because of the subject matter.)

You can learn more about my Patreon and how to subscribe HERE.

Crusty on the Job

"Crusty", my full-size realistic skeleton prop, has had many different looks over the years.  Here he's made up to look like the cannibalized remains of an actress in "Hungryland".
